How to Play Among Us With 4 Players
Unfortunately, regardless of settings, you are up against it to have a fun time with 4 players. With 4 players, the killer only has to kill 2 players in order to win the game. for that reason, our settings adopt a race against the clock approach, encouraging crewmates to get the short amount of tasks done before they are killed.
Between that and the HUGE kill cool down for the impostor. It increases the likelihood that a body will be found before the game comes to an end.
It is recommended that for 4 players. to instead play an alternative game mode, namely the ‘Hide And Seek’ Game mode as explained in our Custom Game Modes Guide.

How to Play Among Us With 7 Players
Among us is, unfortunately, the worst amount of players a lobby can have behind 4. Most people play with 2 impostors but this usually results in even the friendliest of lobbies turning toxic. This is because it usually goes;
– 2 impostors get a kill.
– someone reports the body.
– *Impostors 1 kill away from winning*.
– the group is forced to make a decision based on one round’s worth of info.
– Someone gets wrongfully kicked on a guess.
– that person gets annoyed that they unjustly got sent out the airlock.
-Rinse and repeat until you are filled with a lobby of unhappy participants.
Our Method
In our method you only have 1 impostor, so they are going to be up against it from the off. But to try and balance this we have increased the tasks that the crewmates need to complete in order to win, as well as reducing the kill cooldown for the impostor. This allows for the impostor to dictate their own tempo for kills.

Best Among Us Match Settings For All Numbers of Players Conclusion
The way we like to play is a slower, drawn out game. Allowing crewmates to gather evidence on others, work out who they can trust. and encourage impostors to not just deathmatch a lobby. Instead picking their kills safe in the knowledge that they aren’t up against it on tasks.
Just because this is optimal for us and for a competitive game. Doesn’t mean that it is necessarily right by you. Adjust it as you see fit until it feels right for your lobby. And Enjoy the experience.
