10. Ring Fit Adventure – 11.26m Sales
rather surprisingly, Coming in at number 10 is the much sought after Nintendo Switch fitness game Ring Fit Adventure, this game has found immense popularity since it’s release on 18 October 2019 with it’s charming gameplay, incredible range of games and most importantly, the unparalleled ability to have fun and get fit at the same time. with a surprising 11.26 million sales worldwide, Ring Fit Adventure pipped it’s place in the top 10 spot from competitors like Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury which had only sold 6.68 million copies worldwide.
9. Splatoon 2 – 12.45m Sales
This incredibly colourful turf war game was born into existance on 28 May 2015, though it feels like it’s been around for a lot longer. Splatoon 2 is all about using a fun array of weapons to paint the map to that of your teams colours, taking down the opposition players to ensure you are unchallenged on your conquest of paint. The game takes an incredible spin on shooter games with kills not giving any tickets towards the victory point, nor are there objectives beyond painting a higher % of the map than the opponents.
The uniqueness, Fun and incredibly well developed game all contribute to the game selling a whopping 12.45 Million copies worldwide and placing it at number 9 on the list of top 10 most sold Nintendo switch games of all time.
8. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!/Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! – 13.57m Sales
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!/Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! takes you to The Kanto Region where you will take your bond with your buddy Pokémon to the next level. the Pokémon video game franchise could release absolutely anything and expect sales, so the fact that Let’s go, Pikachu!/Let’s go, Eevee! has made the list is no surprise. The fact that the game heavily integrates itself with the hugely popular mobile phone title Pokémon GO Results with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!/Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! comfortably earning it’s place in the list of the top 10 most sold Nintendo Switch games of August 2021.
7. Super Mario Party – 15.72m Sales
Mario party has been a household favourite for years, and will remain so for years to come. Easy to pick up and play, a good mix between skill and luck and it’s huge range of games makes it the perfect game for families and social gatherings. Having sold 15.72 Million copies worldwide Since it’s release date on 5 October 2018 ranks it at number 7 on our list.

6. Super Mario Odyssey – 21.40m Sales
Beating the sales by just under 6 million of Mario Party, and coming in at number 6, Is Super Mario Odyssey. Mario games always do well, and seeing Super Mario odyssey on this list at number 6 with 21.4 million wordwide sales comes at no surprise!
5. Pokémon Sword/Pokémon Shield -21.85m Sales
Pokémon Sword/Pokémon Shield just about beats Super Mario Odyssey in sales, Though it’s still selling in excess of 700k copies a quarter. Which equates to about 233k games being sold each month. With a handful of DLC content already out and more expected, it will be no surprise if in the next financial report we find Pokémon Sword/Pokémon Shield at number 4 of the list… But for now it sits at number 5.
4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 23.20m Sales
With the Breath of the Wild 2 expected for release in 2022, it is safe to say that Breath of the Wild is not that likely to climb any higher on our list. But having sold a staggering 23.2 Million copies worldwide, One could predict that one day this title could be replaced on the list by it’s sequel.
3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 24.77m Sales
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the most recent addition to the Super Smash Bros series of games. being hugely popular among casual gamers and competitive gamers alike – With the addition of the fact that it has a whole collection of playable characters taken from some of the other most popular games in the world… It is a no brainer as to how this game has sold 24.77m copies worldwide. The game has had a loyal fanbase for decades, and the standards of the game delivered only ever accumulates this dedicated fanbase more.
2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 33.89m Sales
Animal Crossing was a ray of sunshine during the peak of the pandemic and lockdowns. Giving everybody a chance to be creative and productive whilst having very little in terms of actual things to do. Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released at just the right time to take the world by storm. 33.89 Million worlds have been created since the games launch on 20 March 2020. It’s popularity has slightly stabilised, but it is still a very fun game to revisit from time to time.
1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 37.08m Sales
The staple game for the majority of Switch gamers is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Whether it’s incredibly competitive Formula one style drinking games or progressing through the challenges and unlockables that the game has to offer. There is something for pretty much all types of gamer. Having sold a whopping 37.08 Million copies worldwide as of June 2021, It is safe to say that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is comfortably sat at numero uno on the top 10 most sold Nintendo switch games list!

although the majority of games that appear on the list for the top 10 most sold Nintendo Switch games are rather predictable, there are a couple that stand as exceeding expectations massively. Ring Fit Adventure being the most notable one. With a lot of hotly anticipated titles like Breath of the wild 2 being expected next year it will be an exciting time to see if these titles can hold their rank… But for now and quite possibly for the next quarter at least.
