When you read Cyan and Myst together, it should send shivers of excitement down the spines of real Myst fans (see what I did there?). Myst players still adore the adventure series by indie developer Cyan. I’m exhilarated to say that Cyan Worlds has just announced that realMyst: Masterpiece Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch!
Alright, so many of you may be squinting at the screen now. What is Myst and why am I wetting my panty over it? Brothers Robyn and Rand Miller released the first Myst puzzle game on PC in 1993 by . The highly successful Riven sequeled it, followed by more games until the final Myst V.
Of course, the Myst legacy didn’t die there. In the same puzzle adventure atmosphere, Cyan launched Obduction on 24 August 2016 (review here). Also, I wrote a detailed article on ‘From MYST To OBDUCTION: Everything You Need to Know for Our Upcoming Review‘. If that doesn’t make it clear how obsessed I am with Myst, I have every original PC game, Xbox Game, Steam game, Android game and Myst books every produced by the mighty hands of CEO, Rand Miller and company.

This newly refreshed and rebuilt version is all the things you loved about Myst, but now you are free to investigate this strange world in your own way. You can explore anywhere. Pick your own path through the forest on Myst Island and seek shelter from the thunderstorm in Stoneship Age. Whether you’re visiting Myst Island for the first time, or you’ve been exploring the island for years – there’s never been a better reason to let the surrealistic Ages of realMyst: Masterpiece Edition become your world.”
