Microtransactions Will Be Present In Metal Gear Survive

Konami, the developer of the upcoming Metal Gear Survive has confirmed that a constant Internet connection will be required to play the game, and that a microtransaction system will be present.
GameSpot has reported after attending a preview session that the survival action game will need a constant internet connection at all times, even when playing on single player. Konami said that this will be to “support a seamless integration between single player and co-op,” thus enabling them to provide “ongoing content post-launch.”
Furthermore, an online store will be available where players can use real money to purchase in-game currency, allowing them to purchase Boost Passes. However, for players who are not keen on spending even more money in the game, the virtual currency can also be acquired just by spending time to play the game.
When asked how long the main campaign of the game would be, Jennifer Tsang, Konami’s brand manager said that it will take players between 15-20 hours to complete the main campaign.
Metal Gear Survive will launch on February 20 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. An open beta kicked off earlier this week and will end tomorrow.
