Mass Effect Andromeda: EA axes single-player expansions

Mass Effect: Andromeda was released last March, and ever since then, reviews have not been in favor of the game, unlike its three predecessors.
EA Executive Patrick Soderlund spoke out that the game was harshly criticized.

I usually don’t do this, but this is one of those places where I feel like the game got criticised a little bit more than it deserved. I think the game is actually a great game. Yes, we have to acknowledge the fact that there were some things that maybe we could have done better, absolutely, but as a whole, if you go in and you buy the game today with everything that’s in it today, I believe that that’s a game worth buying, personally.

Ever since its release, EA and Bioware have been improving the game with patches. However, this wasn’t enough to redeem the game from criticism that the company decided to abandon all single player expansions, though multiplayer support will still continue as announced by Bioware.
Soderlund said that the series may come back someday but only if it’s “relevant” in the market. Bioware in Montreal has also reportedly merged with EA’s Motive Studios. Hopefully, this downsizing won’t affect any future projects (ahem …Dragon Age 4).
