Gamescom 2017 made a surprise reveal during a live stream last Sunday in the form of a new game called Jurassic World Evolution. As a fan of the 14-year-old game Jurassic Park Operation Genesis (JPOG), I rejoiced with the announcement.
Slated to be released in summer 2018 alongside the upcoming movie Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, it is a park-building sim by Frontier Developments, who have been publishing similar games in the past such as Planet Coaster and the Roller Coaster Tycoon series. The game will put players at the helm of running a Jurassic World Park.
A press release states that:
Players take control of both Isla Nublar and the surrounding islands. They will use these locations to build their own Jurassic World as they bioengineer new dinosaur breeds and construct attractions, containment, and research facilities.
Hopefully, this new game brings back the nostalgia and great features of JPOG that fans used to love, while adding new ones, like to bioengineer your dinosaurs as mentioned, and to make it more exciting and modern.
Jurassic World Evolution will be released on PC, Xbox, and PS4. You can check out the awesome launch trailer below.
