Islands of Nyne Free2Play on Steam As Developer Closes Down

It’s never good to hear of a developer closing its doors, especially for one that showed such promise. So much time, energy and funds are put into your development company and invested in creating a game, and then you have to say goodbye. This is what has happened to indie developer Define Human Studios.

On the Steam Community Page, the developer of Battle Royale game Islands of Nyne, stated that they will be closing down due to financial costraints. Their only game received Kickstarter funds of $50,000 in 2016, and the game has been in development ever since. It officially launched in July 2018, but now they’ve decided that the upkeep is just to expensive.

There is some good news though. The developer has agreed to keep Islands of Nyne as free-to-play on Steam. This means that you can now take a crack at the game. Ever since it launched the game received 7,272 players, so there is still some activity to be found. And who knows, perhaps they will reopen if enough people play it for free.

For everyone that paid for the game, there is some indication that you could get a refund.

If you fancy a new Battle Royale game, head on over to the Steam page to try it out. I know I will.
