If any of you Fallout 76 players out there were hoping for some Nuke fireworks this New Years, you may have discovered that the nuke failed to launch. Did Bethesda take them down to start 2019 on a peaceful note. Was there an event that triggered a spy’s attempt to take down all nukes?
Well… no. It seems that a bug crept into the game which interfered with nuke launches.
For those who don’t know, nuking in Fallout 76 is an essential part of the game. You would think that people would have learnt from the nuclear war that caused the Fallout phenomenon to exist. But nuking areas in Fallout not only destroys enemies and creatures in the area, but reveals some hidden loot you would not have been able to get without it.
Strangely enough, the failing of nukes set Reddit and Twitter alight (haha) with complaints on social media. Hundreds of FO76 players reported failed nuke attempts to Bethesda, wanting to know why their world-destroying weapon was taken away.
Well, Bethesda only started investigating this about 7 hours ago, so we’ll keep an eye on this and let you know when it is safe to nuke again.
