RESIDENT EVIL 7 Nominated for Best VR Game and Ultimate GOTY in the 2017 Golden Joystick Awards

Resident Evil 7 has been nominated Best VR and Game of the Year for the 2017 Golden Joystick awards.. and you can vote too

If you haven’t heard of the 2017 Golden Joystick Awards, let me give you a small introduction. Every year GamesRadar runs these awards and lets the public decide which is the best game for each category. This year is the 35th year that the awards are being held and it is being hosted by none other than Danny Wallace.

If you’ve wanted to vote, you’ve missed the original run that ended yesterday 21 September 2017 for the shortlisting. Have no fear though, as you can go to the website and now vote among the nominated games for your favourite for each category.

Which brings me to the point of this article. This morning I awoke to the sight of not only CAPCOM, but KONAMI and Deep Silver sharing a tweet about Resident Evil 7 being nominated for the Best VR and Ultimate Game of the Year Awards.

Of course, I am completely happy with this vote and after this article I will making my votes in the Golden Joystick Awards. It is so wonderful seeing corporations like Konami sharing the vote for RE7. I remember a time when many of us believed the RE franchise being rival to Silent Hill. Yet Konami, specifically Konami UK, have always shown great support for others. Whenever I’ve shared details of my Silent Hill novel series, Konami UK were always the first to like and share. And it is this sort of positive contribution that really makes this world great to live in.

Back to the awards. What is great about voting in this awards is that every voter will get their choice of gaming eBook worth up to £15.99. You will get to choose between PC Gamer’s Best PC Games ever, Edge’s 100 Greatest Videogames, GamesMaster’s Ultimate Guide to Minecraft Vol 20, Retro Gamer’s Book of Arcade Classics, The Nintendo Switch Book, and The PlayStation Book celebrating over 20 years of PlayStation.

So, if like CAPCOM, Deep Silver and Konami you would like to put your vote down for RE7, head on over to the 2017 Golden Joystick awards and have your say. You have until 3 November to vote and the awards will take place on 17 November.

I believe RE7 should win most of these awards. Be that as it may, here are the categories and nominees::
