Announcement: Mortal Kombat 11: The Reveal (Live).

Hiya kids, hiya hiya hiya!  It’s your boy jonny coming at you from outside Washington DC with today’s major Mortal Kombat 11 reveal.  Since I love you and I have no life outside this 15″ laptop, I’ll be doing live updates right here with all the news from NetherRealms’s upcoming sequel to its decades-running, controversial gorefest series of fighters.  So grab a bag of tortilla chips and fill one of your enemy’s skulls up with some steaming hot queso and GET OVER HERE!!! (All times in Eastern).

1:37 p.m. – Swiftor hyping up the crowd with a brief interview, talking about what he loves about the series and his excitement over this new title.

1:39 p.m. – Mega fan Dynasty jazzed to be at the reveal event, may be getting a tattoo onsite of his main, Sub-Zero.  Funky.

1:44 p.m. – Cosplayer Bethany Maddock looking badass as Scorpion, hostess Naomi Kyle asking her about making it.  She made all her components from clay, like a dreidel but evil and fire-breathing.

1:48 p.m. – Superfan UncagedGAMEZ is beyond excited about this event, just revealed that his name is based on Johnny Cage and he isn’t afraid to throw shade at Noob Saibot fans.

I wonder how our leak article will stack up…

1:51 p.m. – Gamer/streamer Chloe Dykstra is talking up the event with Naomi Kyle.  They have a tattoo parlor, a tower, a rage room and more – I wonder what a MK food kiosk would look like?  Just raw and charred meat, grain alcohol and sides of more meat?

1:54 p.m. – Chloe’s filling in for Naomi now, interviewing a team of cosplayers and pro-wrestlers.  Shang Tsung cosplayer has a skull prop with fog coming out. 😀

2:01 p.m. – Here we go!  Awesome gameplay reveal trailer, loads of shown characters – Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Baraka (yay!), etc.

2:03 p.m. – This room sounds like any of the basement scenes in Fight Club.  I love it.

2:04 p.m. – Joshua Gray is an awesome hype man.  Just introduced Ed Boon.

2:06 p.m. – Ed says there are seven fighters being shown off today, including newcomer Geras.  I forgot to mention Skarlet earlier.  Different costumes/variations of characters are chooseable, some made by fans and others by NR.

2:08 p.m. – Baraka bites chunks out of suckas’ arms.  Power meter is now split between offense and defense.  Whenever a fighter gets under 30% health, new Fatal Blow is available, similar to X-Ray moves from MKX.

2:10 p.m. – Fatalities are back and Baraka’s first one is…mind-blowing.

2:11 p.m. – Fighter customization similar to Injustice 2.

2:12 p.m. – 2nd fight is Sonya vs. Skarlet.

2:13 p.m. – This is a title that delights in its over-the-top violence, and it’s doing great.

2:15 p.m. – Fatality sizzle reel.

2:16 p.m. – Joshua Gray interviewing Ed Boon about Skarlet, the awesome blood-soaked DLC kombatant from MK9.  Talking about making new characters, promises of seeing more Geras later.

2:18 p.m. – Opening cinematic time.  Dark Raiden ain’t takin’ no guff from Shinnok.

2:24 p.m. – Ronda Rousey is indeed voicing Sonya Blade!

2:26 p.m. – Ronda just got introduced and is talking about being in MK11.

2:29 p.m. – Tyler Lansdown (community manager) is here to talk about community events and the kollectors edition reveal!  Scorpion mask for the fancy version, pre-orders get you Shao Kahn and beta access.  Kombat kast coming January 30.

2:32 p.m. – Geras reveal.  He’s a time-manipulating sand-powered badass.
