I’m sure that long term subscribers to AIR Entertainment will be aware of Neon Sword and the coverage we have given since its inception, not to mention that I personally am providing the voice for the Narrator within the game (nothing wrong with a little self-publicity is there?!) as well as being involved in the writing process.
For those who are unaware of the game; firstly, how dare you not be! Secondly, here is a brief outline. Neon Sword is an open world 3rd person top down action role playing game with elements of business simulation. The non-linear story has multiple choices that effect the world around you leading you down many paths; the person you become is shaped by your decisions made within the game.
As I write this article, the game is roughly 75% complete and Japes Hirons is working night and day coding and mapping to get it ready for hopeful release in 2019.
Inspired by the 80’s games and music this game is a serious labour of love working basically with a none-existent team other than myself, Shaun and Jonny providing Voice Over so far, and the music score being provided by the highly talented Joey4Track.
But in a world as diverse as Quaid City there is so much going on with NPCs going about their daily business, however shady that may be.. and this is where Pea Head Games needs you.
With so many NPCs walking around, there needs to be some kind of interaction with them, even if its just them telling your character to ‘Fuck Off’ for want of a better term. That count is somewhere in the region of 150 of them and voicing each and every one of them is a task for such a small Voicing team. This is where you all come in to this.
Pea Head Games are looking for people to add their own voices to these characters. Sounds simple enough? Well, yeah, it is. You don’t even need to have studio set up in which to do this. All you really need is a headset with a mic that we all use for online gaming.
“So how do I get involved?” I hear you all screaming. Its quite simple really. Firstly you will need to email Japes directly for more information, providing links to any work you have done before, preferably so he can hear your voice if you have provided VO work before. If not then any Twitch or YouTube streaming where you talk shit over your game as most people do. If you have never done anything like that before, don’t panic, still get in touch and he can request a sample of your voice.
Now, I must stress that this opportunity isn’t a paid role, but you will get in game credit in the closing titles as well as IMDB recognition if you have a profile set up on there (just let him know). Also, it doesn’t matter where you are in the world or if you are male or female, he is looking for everyone.
Good luck to everyone.
