Its good to know that the PS Vita still isnt dead and that Indie Developers are still taking a chance with the hand-held. Sometimes You is one of those developers, and I for one am glad we are starting to get some fresh titles coming through.
Save the Ninja Clan has been around for a while now on the PS4 and Xbox one but is now coming to the Vita on October the 6th.
Now, don’t get me wrong, the graphics are far from amazing, but when you get a game that becomes highly addictive in a person’s hands, you don’t notice them. This is one of those games I’m glad to say. I’ve spent hours getting frustrated at some of the levels within the game as they are far from easy, but they’re not so impossible that you just want to switch the game off and flick to another title.
That being said, they are still cute to watch.
Our hero Ninja has the added help of being able to throw weapons to kill enemies that appear, but you can also use those to jump on to scale high walls, a touch which I really like as they could have just made it so he can scale anything.
For me personally, I love these type of platform games and you are treated to a nice tutorial that helps you into the game, but I even found the basic tutorial challenging to a certain degree. Sometimes You have done a very good job with this game.
There’s not much that I can really say about this game as the levels are quite similar and do grow in difficulty as you move further into the game. You jump, climb and kill your way through the levels and have a lot of fun in doing so.
I do think this game suits the handheld consoles more than it will the major consoles, and as I have said, its good to see that developers are still able to utilise the Vita in this day and age when most have probably left the handheld for dust.
As for a score on the game, I will give it a 7/10. It’s a basic side scrolling game which is a lot of fun to play, but it’s nothing that we haven’t seen before and in some cases, it has been done better, but this is a valiant attempt by Sometimes You
